        AusCERT Alert Summary
        ---------------------

Product: Winamp 5.12 and prior
Operating System: Windows
Impact: Execute Arbitrary Code/Commands
Access: Remote/Unauthenticated

Original Bulletin: http://www.winamp.com/player/version_history.php

- --------------------------BEGIN INCLUDED TEXT--------------------

OVERVIEW:

A vulnerability exists in Winamp 5.12 and prior which allows an
attacker to run arbitrary code using a specially crafted playlist
(.pls) file. A malicious playlist file may also be embedded in a web
page to automatically execute its payload when a Winamp user visits a
	hostile web site.

Proof of concept code exploiting this vulnerability is publicly
available and modification by another attacker would be trivial.

IMPACT:

An attacker may execute arbitrary code on a Winamp user's machine.

MITIGATION:

Upgrade to Winamp 5.13, available from:

	http://www.winamp.com/player/
