Microsoft Corporation has released the following security bulletin
concerning a re-release of their bulletin MS98-004 (originally
released by AusCERT as ESB-98.113).

It has recently been brought to Microsoft's attention that this
vulnerability has been used to gain unauthorised access to
Internet-connected systems that have not been updated as per the
instructions in MS98-004.  Microsoft's intent of re-releasing this
bulletin was to serve as a reminder about this vulnerability, to
restate the threat, and encourage system administrators to evaluate
their systems to determine if their systems have been correctly
configured and updated to protect against this vulnerability.

This bulletin concerns a vulnerability in the Remote Data Service
(RDS).  This vulnerability may be exploited to allow unauthorised
Internet clients to access OLE DB datasources or to execute shell
commands on the IIS system as a privileged user.  The new Microsoft
