OVERVIEW
A number of SquirrelMail plugins have been confirmed to have been
compromised as a result of the SquirrelMail Webserver compromise that
took place on June 16th 2009. Initially the developers believed that
no plugins were compromised however further investigation has shown
otherwise.
IMPACT
The following SquirrelMail plugins have been compromised:
* sasql-3.2.0
* multilogin-2.4-1.2.9
* change_pass-3.0-1.4.0
Regarding these compromised plugins, the vendor states:
"Parts of these code changes attempts to send mail to an offsite
server containing passwords. We cannot establish a timeline of when
these plugins were compromised." [1]
MITIGATION
The vendor recommends downloading fresh copies of these plugins from
the SquirrelMail plugins repository, and has provided the following
MD5 hashes for the three affected plugins. [1]

Administrators using these plugins should ensure that all users must
change their passwords after installing new copies of these plugins.
